Choose to Be Happy

You can scream and shout.
You can fuss and pout.
Or you can find a reason to be happy.
You can whine away.
You can pine away.
Or you can find a reason to be happy.
It's up to you
It's amazingly true
But a spit of a fit
Doesn't help not a bit.
So why not try
And you will find
It's so much better to be happy.

This Poems Story

I resolved not to pass onto my daughter the unhappy outlook that my mother did me. But, I was posed with a problem. I found myself yelling at her in frustration whenever she whined to get her way. I borrowed from the brilliance of Mary Poppins and decided to sing to her instead. After all one cannot sing and stay grumpy at the same time. Soon I found myself penning these lyrics to "Choose to Be Happy." I've also found that I need to sing the song to myself.
