Christmas Glow

Just before Christmas gentle snow
falls from the wintry sky;
The first covering, all aglow,
beautiful to every eye.

Each snowflake, a pattern unique,
amazing by design,
Silently descending.
miraculous. sublime.

Advent of the Son of God
is more amazing still.
Christ left Heaven's splendor
to do the Father's will.

Pure, sinless Lamb of God,
whiter than the snow,
Light of heaven descending--
the first Christmas glow.

This Poems Story

Our winters in Michigan are an opportunity to look beyond shoveling snow in sub-zero temperatures. My goal is to capsulize the parallel of God's spiritual purpose with His handiwork revealed. My wife, our three grown children, and our eight grandchildren have all given me inspiration for stories as well as poetry. I enjoy writing for them.
