Cities filled with empty souls

Plunging spoons in cereal bowls,
Whisking to fulfill their goals,
Living off-track, tedious lives,
Cities filled with empty souls.

Down the busy streets they stroll,
Blisters on each heel and sole,
Neglecting the wondrous world of dreams,
Cities filled with empty souls.

Sitting cross-legged, scratching polls,
Anxious like the fishes of shoal,
Will the departed life come back?
To the cities filled with empty souls.
