Clear sight

A foolish little girl closed her eyes,
To the world around her .
She saw only through a telescope,
And the rest became a blur .
She argued that she had a clear
sight,
A clear sight for the stars.
And those were all she saw,
Her twinkling bubbles of light .
Stars of different sizes,
Like bubbles of different opportunities.
She found one that was calling her,
And was sure that it was her destiny.
That foolish little girl,
How I wish I could knock some
sense into her.
Tell her she's setting herself up
for disappointment,
And how silly dreams really
were .
