Closer ( part 2 )

No one saw but God that night.
Two hands touched Love.
( touched Him, touched Light )
Two hearts spoke too many words to write a lifetime.

The sun returned and then I learned
I'd met her weeks before.
She lived with her mother and her brother.
Her daddy had gone to the stars
... in a car.

That night she was in my lap,
in my arms and in my heart.
Though we were as close as close could be
I knew we'd be apart
...too soon.

We sat and wrote and drew.
I wrote Now I'll have to miss you.
She wrote Now I'LL have to miss YOU.
...She understood.

Many didn't understand
why I held her little hand
... like a gold rose.

The night I dreaded came too soon.
I had just stepped from my room
...and she was leaving.

Final words come sadly.
There's nothing more to say.
But she hugged me like a daughter
the night she went away.
