Clyde

By Payton    Payton

He stared off glassy eyed
No direction was in his vision
Only leaving was his mission
All values and morals had died
Witnessing a previous love and then becoming blind
He may regret it in the future but he made his decision
Thus coming to the conclusion that he should create this division
Promising his loyalty but abandoning it for pride
Now living with regret he attempts to return
Yet a mutual respect has been shattered
Deciding to abandon but returning again expecting smiles
Too late now his chance cannot be earned
Leaving a family's heart battered
Trust has been defiled

This Poems Story

My father (Clyde) and my mom were together until my birth when he decided to abandon us. Now that I am 17 he is attempting to enter my siblings and I's lives. He is thinking we can just all put aside the fact how he abandoned us for a majority of our lives. We have all come to an agreement that he does not deserve the chance to come into our lives after the mistakes he's made and all the times he has tried to earn our trust but then have it all come crashing down onto us.
