Coffee & Cigarettes

I found a picture of her
Hidden.
Behind a small box in the attic.
I was so young and full of hope
She was so wild.
Free,
Without me
To be whoever she wanted to be.
That's how I left her
A memory.
Then and now a familiar taste appears.
It reminds me of coffee and cigarettes,
The taste I hated so much.
Now lingers on my breathe.
