Cold

Picking up right where it began
The shiver unshaken
An open window a reminder
The rain, the wind, the chill, the hate

Night has gone and sun has left
Once forever east, is now forever west
Ever longing warmth of the prickled sleeper
Ever yearning angst of the tickled fever

Bear the light close to chest
Whispering this is the best
For fate may fold
Into a night so cold
