Cold Battle

Cold, I feel it cold against my skin
Wondering if this is a battle that I can win
My heart is racing
Maybe this time I should be pacing
I feel the blood sliding down
It's like the water lowers and I'm no longer about to drown
A few more pushing it deep into my flesh
It's like a new story once you hit refresh
Searching for signs that someone might know
The fear of death has not begun to grow
I think of how the world may be if I leave
Trying to figure out who would grieve
My heart aches
My skin breaks
My hand shakes
A deep breath in
Why do I let them get under my skin?
I'm losing my mind
Another slice looking for answers I'll never find
I say it's not worth it, that I am done
As I drag the blade across I know the battle's already been won
