Cold World

I am an African American girl in a cold world
I wonder if people would ever be kind
I hear people talk about me
I see the wrong that people do
I want this war on race to end
I am an African American girl in a cold world
I pretend to like the stuff I hear
I feel that no one cares
I touch the hands of the hopeless
I worry about the future
I cry for the people that died
I am an African American girl in a cold world
I understand I can't do this by myself
I say we need to join in and stop
I dream that we can live together in harmony
I try to understand why
I hope everyone see what I see
I am an African American girl in a cold world
