Don’t ask me how I’m doing,
Don’t even say hello.
Don’t call me up or text,
You’ll only cause more woe.

You will not heed my warnings,
I’m pushing you away.
I promise honest reasons,
Yet here you stubbornly stay.

No, I will not tell you,
For you’d never understand.
Can’t you see I’m falling apart?
I’m held together by a strand.

Spare me of misery,
Go elsewhere, go anywhere!
Don’t stand so close to me.
Let me breathe untainted air.

Your name must be Naivety,
So foolish is your mind.
Cannot you see the truth?
You must be colorblind!

Don’t you know,
As you turn with a sigh,
Every hello will eventually lead
To adieu, farewell, goodbye?
