Come on in

Come on in

You glanced my way, smile so bright
It was nice to see a new face
Comforting hand from far away places
Of course I would let you in
Living and laughing, eyes sparkling
You became my normal
Hand in hand we ruled the world
Of course I’d keep you in
Then long behold, a dreaded day
My smile wasn’t as bright
My comforting hand seemed farther from view
Why won’t you come back in?
My eyes now only covered in the sparkle of running mascara
So easily my World was changed
But time will heal all wounds
why, now do you want back in?
To stir up the dust that was hidden away
Untouched for so long
Smile bright, you propose a future
Well I suppose you could come on in.
