Coming the Night

Nightshade comes hiding the light,
Here is the moment coming the night,
Sounds of the wind now are in flight,
Moon shining brightly with all its might.

Deep in distance is tapping so bold,
Bones are shaking with shivery cold,
People are tucked in beds fast asleep,
This moment in time must we so keep.

Blackened streets shiny and bright,
Sidewalks empty coming the night,
Playgrounds silent without a sight,
Nothing seen and everything right.

Empty trees with branches bare,
No one comments or truly cares,
Standing proudly as if to dare,
Coming the night for all to share.
