Common Core

Children dancing,
Frolicking around the corridor,
There is no wish to become more intelligent
There is no incentive besides “more”.

Come into this building,
you see,
And you’ll have fun,
Just follow me,

After 6 years
The building was no longer a bliss
It became simply,
A cause that was missed;

All four hundred children
Dancing to class to class
And some ripping hair out now
Trying to pass

The children wore the same clothing, too
There was no difference between me and you
Oh, what the future beholds
What secrets the educational system hasn't told

Me? I've never experienced this before
Because I’m still dancing around the corridor,
No incentive to learn besides the word more,
If only I truly knew the disadvantages to Common Core.
