Complex

Ornate gates seclude us
The steel in her eyes echo the sudden divorce,
Purposefully void.
Frost encrusts our divide, numbing my hands
Simply, I would relinquish the expanse of the universe,
Only to shower in her cigarette butts as they fall
Brief glances penetrate
Every shift or blink or smirk renew
And I hang on her lips as she sips her coffee-
Her black coffee.
