Gradually finding your face in the dark,
holding more than I can closet.
Bandaging the nights breach-born moon.
A loving gauze of affection.
We find shelter in each other,
in a familiar womb;
Wrapped in the arms of bird like wings.
Make your nest in me.
Your form, glistening like high cheekbones.
I offer more than a mouthful of hope.
Passed between tongues,
let my soul be a comb to you.
Untangle the knots of demonic lust.
Brush yesterday away from my head,
the way you take my fingers from your hair.
Curving towards me,
like a thin skein of shadows.
Woven into fate.
Opaque eyes.
A shawl of skin, protecting each other.
Wrapping around like Japa Mala beads.
Sweep me away oh heron.
sweep me! Save me from my dreams and deciduous memories.
Recollect my soul,
like a loom;
you keep me still.
