Confession

Your eyes, your smile, your laughter fills my day,
With thoughts of you, I cannot seem to shake.
I want not from this dream of mine to wake,
Nor strive to find the concrete words to say.

Your hugs make any day a day to love,
And every moment spent with you is grand.
I offer you my heart, or caring hand,
When life is cruel and offers you a shove.

Each time I say “I love you,” I suspect,
That you do not yet see I speak the truth.
For every passing moment of my youth,
My love for you, I gladly will perfect.

If aye, my heart, the sky it will transcend,
If nay, I’ll love you still, but as a friend.
