Confessions

Confessions of you and I
Laquered nails in restless palms
Wet kisses on dry cheeks
Oval eye-lids open and lost

Heaving chests unaware
Of the greatness of breath
I wish to know
I wish to see in those
Amber eyes-
A world unkown to me
A perception that is not my own

When will broken thoughts change our constant conversations?
Of lives unfulfilled retelling
Stories of nostalgic retreat
I can't look away
From amber smoke
To breathe and float.
