Conforming Death

This image of death
Appeared behind my shut eyes.
His frightening demeanor piercing through.
The cold chill through my spine
Sent my body into a paralyzed state.

My mind raced as he came closer
Dark memories of the life I had lived.
Had society controlled my complete being
Or did the life I was born to live.
Questions are asked, but no answers are given.
Is life truly meaningful
If you live like the rest.

I felt death pick my frail body up
The dark grave no longer being filled.
He carried my soul in a jar.
The blinding whitewalls
And clean smell surrounded
As death gave my soul
To a new mother's child.

This new life was me
Only reborn to a different body.
It was a second chance to live a life
But not live the life society demanded
