Contemplating Connections

I wonder if bridges ever tire of connecting regret with aspiration,
past with future,
what could have been to what may one day be,

I wonder if they ever question their worth, their function, their integrity

I wonder if they ever feel the strain of passing time, fear their own collapse into a deep, endless sea,

or do they simply appreciate themselves as the path they were built to be?
