Continuum

What happened to the child I loved so well?
She who staked her claim upon my heart,
Who lived inside my body and my mind
Defining my existence from the start.

A mystical connection blood to blood
That reached into the corners of my soul.
She shattered all my barriers, all the walls,
And with her steady gaze she made me whole.

Now grown from me but never really gone,
Transcending time and space forever tied,
The love between a mother and her child
A bond that God's own angels are denied.
