Country United

It was Tuesday, 9-1-01.
Everything was busy and roaring as usual in New York City,
Yet everything felt so peaceful, until
The plane came in sight attacking the American people.
Many thousands were injured.
Boom! the sound of the plane colliding with the Twin Towers.
Many thousands are gone forever,
The buildings now engulfed by fire and smoke.
Many heroes among them
Fighting to escape the horror,
Whose courage was strong,
Fighting for their lives.
Change is what our nation now faces.
Sorrow and tears fill the eyes of our people-
Tears of red, white, and blue for those heroes lost.
Our flag stands tall and proud
In memory of those lost on that tragic day
But remembered for our united nation, as one.
