Craftsmen


With type or pen or hearty voice
each day an overwhelming choice
which ones to choose, these twenty-six
the ones we use to raze and fix
scrawled on paper and tossed through space
just these twenty six we must face
and those that master these living marks
on fantastic journeys they embark
speaking to kings and beggars and thieves
each word falls softly like autumn leaves
For ornate words can change a man
from evil to good, right to wrong, they can
