Crimson Rose

Crimson Rose
Crimson Rose

Colour too deep to describe
A shimmer of silk when the sunlight grazes
Scent you can’t imitate of good things like safe back home
Every petal stands out in majesty, blushing with warmth
She knows her beauty; I don’t need to tell her but I do
Magnificence is what some would call her
I’d say one of nature’s wonders splendour renewed

She won’t last long though
The season spent eats away
Ageing her too fast, too soon
Too late to press it in the volume leaf
Next year though I’ll find you early
I’ll save your wonder so others can perceive
Asking for nothing

Lasting forever with me
