Crossing December

Crossing two Decembers
I looked into your eyes
A glimpse of hope and subtlety
And an indication of despise
A whispered promise of forever
Salty tears streaming down a face of white
No words were uttered by the stars
The sun gave way to night
Tomorrow is lost in the sky full of stars
Tears illuminated by the moon
I looked into your emerald eyes
And my heart burst out in tune
Crossing three Decembers
A man stares at the sky
He wonders how three years had passed
And he begins to cry
No hope shimmered with the dying light
A saddened man had the sky rain tears
For he had crossed three Decembers
In what only seemed a year
