‘Crossroad in the Wood’

My heart found something precious
Deep within these woods
A silence deep and calming
That few have understood

Though the comfort bore a mystery
Creeping quietly within
It's song is barely whispered
In the minds of mortal men

'Twas at this hidden crossroad
I chose to listen in
And lulled to sleep
By songs of peace
I never rose again
