Crystal Ball

Careful what you wish for
so they say
but some like to roll the die
just to feel like
he or she gave it a true try,
while others wonder about the unknown
since fear holds them back
self-doubt begins to brew,
taunting their minds to play it safe,
precisely why they choose to chill
in a shallow bay,
until their last day.
