Curse of a Soldier

I am so lost
body numb from blood loss
will I ever again feel whole?
knowing it could cost me my soul

At times I might regret my decision
to rise and evolve my skills and precision
but the love of my wife
encouraged me to save my own life

my will and determination to live
invoked my power to give
so with all my might
I stand for what's right

there is a price for being this brave
but tell my family hold up on the grave
I'm nowhere near done
some would say I've just begun

though I continue to grow older
my skills become bolder
the curse of a soldier.
