Daddy

I opened my eyes,
And I see this tall, brown skin man standing over me by surprise,
I ask myself who could he be?
Why is this tall, brown skin me smiling at me?
I'm a day old,
This unknown man looking like he sees gold,
Suddenly, he reaches down for me than holds me so tight,
I'm kicking and screaming I'm only 6 pounds and 7 ounces
there's no way I'm going to win that fight,
Minues passed I became silent,
Something in my heart telling me this man couldn't be violent,
Unconditional love was there,
I have just out grew my biggest fear,
Now that am 23,
I could look back and say I love you Daddy !
