daddy

i give my breath, my word and my vow,
that i will work hard to make you proud.
mommy is sad, shes taking care of grandma now.
we try to move on, but dont realy know how.
cassie hurts, she crys and she crys,
you are more than just dad in her eyes.
and caleb well, he got married,
i think it was more than you that we burried.
the pain and the sarrow, the hurt and regret,
but our cards have been delt, the cards have been set.
the stories you told, the jokes and the big belly laughter,
its the sound or you voice, thats what im after.
i know that you gone, that you are not here,
but i refuse to say goodbye,i will not adhere.
so for now i will speak to your picture hanging on the wall,
because i miss you so bad, i wont say goodbye at all.
so now i will leave you with this,
i love you daddy, its you that i miss.
