Though you've been gone
for many years,
our love for you remains
and honor is given to you
because they also share your name.

And as they grow up
they will want to know
just how you used to be.
I'll make it clear
how very dear
I hold your memory,

You had ten children and shelter even more
We felt rich in love even though we were very poor.

Little things like shaved ice and sugar cane you always made us share.
You taught us so many things, because of your love and daddy you cared.

You took time from your busy life to take us for a ride
As little kids we never knew this was our better life.

Daddy we miss you so in many ways and miss our mother too.
But know that you two will always be the foundation
of love that will get this family through.
