Daddy, Come Home

"Daddy's a hero"
Was all she could say,
A five year-old girl
With her dad far away,
A prayer every night
For Daddy to return-
A wish on a star
For her heart not to burn.
A five year-old girl
With her Daddy away.
Each night by her bed,
Mommy heard her say:
"Please be safe and sound,
Please stand your ground.
Just be brave each day.
Soon I will hear you say,
'Darling, Daddy's home.
Look at you, so grown-
Show me all you've learned,
Let's heal that heart that's burned.
Darling, Daddy's home-
And, baby, look how you've grown.'
