Daniel My Brother

You showed me that though we have a serious life
Jokes are important to deter strife
God! How I miss your monkey face
And when you pulled my hair, my heart would race
You'd stick out your tongue and cross your eyes
And the laughter begun, we laughed 'til we cried
I remember the last hug that we shared
You were so thin, to squeeze you I but dared
And the precious notes that were left on your door
Showed the person you are is so much more
More than people ever thought you could be
Even though you lived in poverty
For because of your love you created a light
A light that will forever shine bright
For all who were there to commemorate your passing
Were able to see that you are in our hearts, everlasting
