Darkest Night

Hopeless running, no end in sight
Ever clear, my day is night.
Darkness consumes my world around
Pressure crushing to the ground.
Hope is gone, my faith has fled
Hate has filled my heart instead.
Pain has conquered, doom has won
Nothing left; no good, no sun.
He had been my love, my life
He my man, and I his wife.
Now he gasps for air and breath
Soon he will succumb to death.
I see the fear upon his face
Around his neck my fingers lace.
Soon he looks as if at peace
Only then do I release.
I feel no guilt, remorse, or shame
He only has himself to blame.
He did not keep the vow he gave
So now I send him to the grave.
