Darkness Falls

As darkness falls I lay me down,
Life goes on without a sound,
I awake the morning to the light,
A new day begins I'm filled with fright.

The fear of failure ,
The goals of life,
Must continue living,
Can't raise the knife.

Yet pain is dwelling,
The body shakes,
The mind is feeble,
The heart it aches.

Still I fight tomorrow,
With an iron fist,
Beat its face,
Slit its wrist.

Still it conquers,
Drags me down,
Pulls the trigger,
I lay this ground.
