Darkness in the Night

Do you ever have those nights?
When darkness comes and there is no light

The times where all but one star is viewed
Black comes in and with it blue
The charcoal black and fluorescent blue form a fire bright and new

The one star shines ever brighter
Inviting you onwards to the spot where it feels much lighter

Do you ever have those nights?
When darkness comes and there is no light

The times where the one star begins to fade
It seems the sky begun to cast its own black nightshade
Forever the invitation stays, always being unswayed

The one star suddenly shines no more
Is there not one, one last encore?

Do you ever have those nights?
When darkness comes and there is no light
