Darkness Prevails

Late at night as I sleep,
The darkness of world begins to creep,
I toss and turn but will not wake,
No matter how hard I shake.

Everyone is causing their own hell,
As if to be put on a dark dark spell,
Death, lies, chaos, and hate,
Nobody is safe at this rate.

Nobody wants me to try and help,
They'd rather live within this hell,
I do not know, I cannot see,
How this reality came to be.

Finally I jolt awake,
The evil was too much to take,
But as I turn to see,
Nothing has changed all around me.

The pain, hate, and brutality,
Has become a part of our reality,
Yet nobody fights, nobody cares,
For we all of our own cross to bear.

But I will not accept this fate.
I will fight as long as it takes.
No matter how many times I fail.
I will not let this darkness prevail.
