Darkness with a Side of Empty

All color has bleached to darkness.
Oh such an oppressive darkness
imprisoning me in black,
pushing on all sides,
squeezing the life from my scorched and broken body.
Screams erupt from my scratched throat with no sound.
I feel nothing--
nothing but the dark: a petrifying sense of falling
down this bottomless void of never-ending darkness!
Not quite a death,
but there could surely be no life here.
Oh such a horrifying in-between.
I wish to feel.
All I feel is falling,
but all I am is darkness--
darkness with a side of empty.
