Darkness Within

knowing not what lies ahead.
Given faith, hope on a shiny platter,
even promises with a smile
Growing up with pain inside,
being let down by the ones you love.
With every corner you turn,
something else always seems to come up.
In a room full of darkness,
sitting with a blank stare,
confused on what is real? What is fake?
Thinking you knew it all, but left with nothing.
To blind to see,
the deepest thoughts of what use to be,
clouds my every thought.
Not knowing what may happen next
Lost with no light at the end of the tunnel,
smiling with no truth in it,
fighting back the tears,
with eyes closed shut.
Trying to fight the darkness within….
before it eats away at what I have left.
