Dating in the time of Covid
by
Linda Susan

I don’t know you, you don’t know me,
I’ll stay at least 6 feet from thee.
Please do not reach to hold my hand,
As for a kiss, don’t dare demand.

Please do not cough, nor sneeze, nor rasp,
and most of all, please do not gasp.
Check for fever before we meet,
and do not come if there’s some heat.

The bars are closed, the beaches too.
Where shall we meet? I’ve not a clue.
So let’s just talk and text today,
And pray our world won’t stay this way
