Dawn

Dawn

Darkness in foreboding style blankets the sky
And night in steely stealth governs the way
Draped in pitch, dense, and holding fast
As creepy creatures freely scamper
Neath obscurity’s hidden canopy
Ears like eyes explore the nebulous world
Of arenas concealed in a shadowed sphere
Embracing captives veiled by murky arms
Biding their time once again to appear
But rays patiently await appointed time
To break the fast dark’s short lived rein
Figures in unlit clouds slowly forge into view
Like the skillful strokes of an artist brush
Painting pictures hidden in a master’s mind
Colors of warm hues evolve to daylights’ birth
Freeing the heavens of night’s menacing assail
Another day breaks the strangling grip
And Hope’s new light thus prevail
