Dawn

Mornings now are sweet
Dew sprinkles the lawn,
Neighbors sleep. Pavements
Scented, wet, grey from
Rain, long. Quickly, we move
Through rooms, looking
For things to remind us that
Yes, this morning, this dawn
Is life, arising. Like that ball
Of fire moving through the air,
Life is lifted, enshrined in light.
Though shades distort me, ahh, still
O still, the dawn, the possibility.
Failures loom behind my door.
How lonely, isolated, frail
I am. But when the dawn emerges
Its frail, frail life is proof,
Tis true, that in the morn'
Great life begins. A life that
Breathes. A life with eyes
That choose to rise, to work,
To live.
