Day Undressed
The day undresses in front of me
Unveiling colors, curves, and charms,
Mighty shoulders that hold the sun,
Freckles like stars,
And scars like a distant deluge.
He impresses me as he unwinds
And I find myself wanting to touch the sky,
To bask in his clouded rays,
To smell the warmth in his exhale.
As the day undresses in front of me
I allow myself to shed my layers,
Hoping the sky will touch me instead.
Unveiling colors, curves, and charms,
Mighty shoulders that hold the sun,
Freckles like stars,
And scars like a distant deluge.
He impresses me as he unwinds
And I find myself wanting to touch the sky,
To bask in his clouded rays,
To smell the warmth in his exhale.
As the day undresses in front of me
I allow myself to shed my layers,
Hoping the sky will touch me instead.
