I caught the tail of a thought
as it started to slip away
It grew strong and pulled me along
as I watched distraction seep into haze
I was caught up in the wonder
as disbelief started to fade
We spun and trailed off
leaving worry for the grave
But at long last, the time passed
and the minutes evaporated
I let go and it dissipated
leaving nothing more than a memory
which faded into a passing feeling
