Daydreamer

My mind is a landscape filled with
scenery like first kisses and first dates
And other things that I know might not happen,
But I dream them up anyway.
It's all a fantasy
Like the books I read
I'm stuck in them for days.
I'm dreaming Sarah Dessen romances
But my life's more like The Hunger Games.
Cupid's aim is like Katniss'
He always strikes my heart
But the other person he shoots me for,
They don't ever fall.
Those arrows are scorching hot
There's always fire ignited.
But I try to avoid getting shot
Cause love sucks when it's unrequited.
I writhe in pain from those arrows
When I'm lying in bed at home.
But I guess when you're a daydreamer,
It's not that bad being alone.
