Dead Woman Tells Tale

I died, nobody cried
No one wept
No one whispered poignant goodbyes
No one reflected on how I touched their lives
No one wished to see me on the other side
No one dried their eyes
No one was there to cry
When I died
I died, nobody cried
They casually strode by
Passing someone who’s passed on
Without realizing
They see me plainly
Yet fail to see
My spirit has left me
They see nothing
An empty shell
Remains of me
They see me everyday
So they don’t miss me
But what they see
Isn’t me
I haven’t been me
Since he left me
