Dear Addiction

You have many names, many forms, many feelings, and many a pain
You don't come slowly but quickly, as you fall down like rain
You don't love me, or care about me, you care to see me stained
You know what I am capable of, so bring on the strain
I wish I could tell you to leave my life and never come back
There you are facing me every second of every day breaking my back
Ever get tired of the pain you've caused? Life broken and bleak
Our only existence depends on you, but you wreak havoc and tweak
I am tired of letting you win every battle in sight
I am fighting the fight
To break the sight
And see the light

This Poems Story

I have been writing since I was five years old. I am ardently in love with words. Writing shows that humans are capable of magic with words. When I wrote this poem, I felt helpless and alone. Writing this saved my life.
