Dear Dad..

They ask me if you are dead, because
I speak of you as if you are not living
you are as empty as a 75-year old willow tree
The person I once knew is somehow gone
and replaced with you
It was like a flick in the heart
and now you are just gone
all alone in the dark
you are a dog with no bark
you have officially lost your spark
all I ever wanted was happiness for you
But now you are as sad as the moms in the NICU
you broke everyone around you
you just try to zone out everything
like a raven learning to fly
you fall to the ground every time
failure is fair
but it's just sadness in the air
Do you feel like the world is screaming at you?
It's almost all too much to bare
Watching you like this seconds feel like days
But what hurts the most is
do you even care to change?
