Dear God

Dear God

I have struggled
Through the murk
Of this dark year
Wreathed in algae
Alone, without him
Cold fish and mollusks
My oblivious companions
The tide to render my tears mute
You were unaware of me
Now I make myself unaware of You
As my feet feel sand of shore
I burst into the light and see
Through all your darkness and Your deaths
That You used to stifle me
I don’t care what salt and seasons
You inflict on me tomorrow
I will take it all, and You will see
That I have gone beyond You; I am me!
