Dear Pharisee

Heavy to carry
These burdens I bear
Always enslaving another
With the chains that I wear

Claiming my freedom
Unable to see
And invisible prison
Surrounded by me

Pointing and prodding
I stood in disgrace
A hypocrite, was I
Without the Gospel of Grace

But God, once again
In pursuit of my heart
Shone a mirror at my soul
to reveal what was dark

No more burdens, No more chains
“It is finished” He cried
Fear breathed its last breath
When He was crucified

No longer be bound
For freedom, I came
The law that you live by
only reaps pride and shame

So remember this Truth
If the Son sets you free
You shall be free at last
He declared “Free Indeed”
